What is the max lift i can put on my 93 jeep grand cherokee with using just spacers and shocks?
hi i am interested in putting a lift on my 1993 jeep grand cherokee ZJ but i do not want to change the geometry of my vehicle. Anything with spacers and shocks is fine but i do not want to go beyond that or have any thing to do with changing the control arms sway links, transfer drop, and pitman arm. What is the max lift i can put on my zj without changing anything except spacers and shocks? Is there a secure and trusted source that provides these specs? ThankS!

Jeep cherokee XJ lift, backspacing?
I have a 1995 Jeep Cherokee that I am in the process of putting a 5.5 in lift on (4.5 springs, rear leaf packs, lower controll arms, transfer case drop, along with one inch coil spacers and 1 inch shackles) anways, I have two questions, first, what grade bolts Do I need to buy to replace tyhe bolts on my shocks, and lower controll arms, and seccond, what is the deal with the backspacing on the rims, is it better to have more or less backspacing, i want the weels to stick out from the jeep a noticable way, does it go out further the higher or lower with the amount of backspacing?
grade eight bolts always is the way to go as for the backspacing it just depends on how far you want them to stick out stock Cherokee have i think 4 in a half inches of back spacing on stock rims backspacing will be affected with the width of the rim easiest way to check for backspacing is jack up your jeep take a rim and tire off you'll need a tape measure and a straight edge take the straight edge and put it up against the brake rotor or drum on the places that the rim will sit take the tape measure and measure inside the wheel well how ever far the backspacing you want to have this will tell you how much backspacing you can have remember to leave about 3 to 4 inches away from the inner fender for tire clearance and articulation from the piont your tape measure goes in from that point you can measure out how ever wide your rims or or you want them to be and this will tell you how far they will stick out
